On Friday August 5th 2022, Children’s Fate Team visited the St Therese Orphanage at Obili -Yaounde. This visit was part of the Launching of the Organization after it was officially registered and legalised. On this day, the team used the opportunity to celebrate the birthday of our very Precious Princess Bona’am Chani Da’akazih who turned 2 years old. The team chose to celebrate with these children in accordance with our believe that every child matters and and they are all unique and important. Led by our Cofounders Tomia Zongkazih Eka Chu and NGOE ESONO, the team had a very insightful conversation with the children and their caretakers. We made the kids know that they have not been abandoned by society and that they are of equal value as any other child. The team encouraged the kids and drilled them on positive attitudes and good morals. In our conversations with the kids, we were pleased to discover that these kids were very positive and have amazing dreams. After some bold kids expressed some doubts in themselves, Tomia Chu insisted that with a positive mindset and self believe, they will see their dreams come true. Our conversation with the Caretakers of the center focused on the realities and some major challenges faced by the kids (we hope to intervene in the future)

At the end, we all talked, played, laughed while learning. It was a moment of exchange and building trust with the kids who opened up to the team on some of their fears and challenges.

At the end, we shared our common meal and drank the soy yogurt and sweet juice made by our Cofounder and President Tomia. And of course, everyone was happy.

We thank the caretakers of the St Therese Orphanage at Obili for the work they are doing to fill that missing piece in the life of the kids.
